It's totally ok if you're not feeling it with Kingdom Hearts. The series is very hit or miss with people. I was mostly drawn into the series due to the Final Fantasy characters and just the oddness of both that and Disney characters co-existing together kinda blew my young mind. The first game definitely has it's flaws. The platforming was irritating at best, and the worlds stories were definitely lackluster, but the game had a story to tell and I wanted to hear it through to the end. I found myself wanting to know more by the end of it, and I will admit you may enjoy the 2nd game better than the first. The story is darker and better told, and I felt as though the gameplay had definitely gotten better. (As for the camera and the remakes, it's pretty much the same except that you can control it with the right stick). I never cared much for the gummi ship points of the game. The whole building system was confusing and I just never bothered to do anything to my ship, lol. But I will admit I did enjoy how they handled it in KHIII. I don't think you're being unfair. I can see where you might feel pressured by the hype but it's perfectly ok if you don't enjoy it. As I said before, this is one of those series that's hit or miss with people. If you want my honest opinion, I'd try to at least play through to KHII and if you still aren't enjoying it after one or two worlds, I'd just call it a day and say that it's just not the game for you, which is perfectly ok. .
